The next pages are part a web tutorial, part a classic sales funnel. The tutorial content on these pages is free, but there will be one or more real upsells and downsells with offers that will further improve your Rails Builders game.
You will learn how to build an app on top of a business operating system and its public API. This is how huge Rails companies like ClickFunnels weave in the business side with their SaaS app.
A business operating system is an online platform that allows you to create user facing pages (opt-ins, sales funnels, pricing pages, etc.) so you get leads and customers for your product. It then gives you all the tools to market and sell to your leads and customers. Most businesses run on a variety of tools, like an app for appointments, another one for email marketing, a third for analytics. A business operating system combines them all so you can focus on your fantastic product.
The product in this tutorial will be the Funnels on Rails app. It's a SaaS to help Rails Builders get their products out into the world.
The tutorial app is a SaaS hosted with Kamal on Hetzner. We are building features to make it a place that helps Rails developers get their creations out into the world. The actual code lives in GitHub under the MIT license. It's all Ruby on Rails and its king category open source starter kit: Bullet Train (think Rails on steroids).
We don't have a Table of Contents page yet, so bookmark pages that you think you want to revisit.
Going through the tutorial can be easy if you just read through the pages and follow the steps on the tutorial pages. To make it stick and provide value, though, you will need to apply the content to the product you are building. If you have been focused on building your product only, now is the time to switch gears and invest 80% of your time into the business part of your product and 20% into code. Or 50/50 at least.
Dozens of Rails Builders have already started taking more steps to get their products into the world. You can do this, too.
